Information You Send
A name, phone number, or address entered in a search form is sent to the third-party provider that supplies the results; our own servers do not keep a copy of the query. If you contact us, we see the message and details you choose to include and use them to respond.
Automatic Technical Data
Our host may keep routine logs such as IP address, browser type, viewed pages, and time stamps. We review those details in aggregate for site health and broad readership patterns. Cookies or similar tools may support basic analytics and, where used, ad measurement.
How the Data Is Used
The purposes are limited to running the reference, solving faults, measuring traffic, and improving its pages. We do not sell visitor lists or create individual user profiles.
External Links
Links lead to town, state, court, library, archive, and third-party search resources. The receiving provider's privacy policy controls anything submitted there, including information entered into sponsored result tools.
Who May Receive It
Hosting and technical service providers may process server logs for the purposes above. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatic data described here. We disclose information when valid legal process requires disclosure and otherwise limit it to service needs.
Security and Retention
The connection is encrypted, and logs are retained only while the purposes above call for them. There are no user accounts, so this service does not hold a password or personal profile for you.
People Under 18
The reference is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor has sent information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your Choices and Rights
Where applicable, Connecticut's Data Privacy Act, Public Act 22-15 as amended, provides rights to access, correct, delete, obtain portable data, ask about third-party disclosures, and opt out of sale, targeted advertising, or certain profiling. The law took effect July 1, 2023, excludes publicly available data, and provides a 45-day response period with a possible extension and a 60-day appeal window. Because we retain very little, a request usually means checking our contact mailbox and available logs. Use the Contact page. Public records kept by East Hartford, Hartford County institutions, Connecticut agencies, courts, and other custodians remain under those offices' control, so correction or access requests belong there.
Policy Changes
When this policy changes, the new text will be posted here. Continued use after an update indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
