Terms of Use

These terms set the conditions for using East Hartford Residents Directory. If you use the reference, you accept these conditions; if you disagree, do not continue to use it.

1. The Service

East Hartford Residents Directory is a private reference that describes and links to public rolls, record indexes, and historical collections concerning East Hartford, Connecticut. It does not host government records and is not affiliated with any office, court, library, or records custodian.

2. Acceptable Use

Use the reference only for lawful purposes. You may not use it or information reached through it to:

  • Stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm any person
  • Locate someone protected by a restraining or protective order
  • Commit identity theft or fraud
  • Make FCRA-regulated decisions (credit, employment, tenant, insurance)
  • Scrape, copy, or republish the site's content at scale
  • Interfere with the site's operation or security

3. No Consumer Reports

East Hartford Residents Directory is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq. Neither these pages nor results from a linked search tool are consumer reports, and they may not be used to decide eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another FCRA-covered purpose.

4. Outside Resources

Government portals and third-party services, including sponsored search tools, operate under their own terms and privacy rules. We do not control their content, availability, charges, or data practices.

5. No Warranties

The reference is supplied "as is" and "as available," without warranties. We do not promise that a statement is accurate, complete, or current, or that an external portal will operate or return a correct result.

6. Liability Limits

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from use of the reference or an external resource, including a decision based on a record located through it.

7. Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold the operators harmless from a claim or demand, including reasonable attorney fees, that results from your misuse of the reference or breach of these terms.

8. Site Materials

The original writing, design, logo, and layout are protected by copyright. Links and brief attributed quotations are welcome, but full-page republication and systematic copying are not.

9. Changes

A revised version may be posted here. Continued use after the revision means that you accept the changed terms.

10. Access Restrictions

Access may be blocked or limited when a user violates these terms or abuses the reference, at the operators' discretion and without advance notice.

11. Connecticut Law

These terms are governed by Connecticut law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. References to public-record access concern the Connecticut Freedom of Information Act, Conn. Gen. Stat. §§ 1-200 through 1-242, especially §§ 1-210 and 1-212; that law does not override exemptions or the separate rules for vital, voter, court, adoption, criminal-history, or confidential records.

12. Severability

If a provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.
